Calling The Soul

Prints Available

from Rs. 1,000

I don't if there world has created a method to measure "calm", but I found mine - here at this lake. Nestled between four different hills, this lake is the beginning of the climb into the area called Tawang, in North East India. I put my bags down, unrolled a mat and sat down right where this photo was taken. Hours passed in a few moments. My mind ran in one direction, till my soul had words with it, and told it to "park itself and switch off". The stomach roused me much, much later, as did a curious cow.

Time Passes At The Sela

Bling abounds in our world; till you see a flower. Then the flower wins. Case in point, the Harlequin Glorybower - a humble flower starts it's life as a white flower, turning into this bright red as it matures. The center of the star shaped flower is the fruit – going from steel gray to dark blue. To me, this showy fruit is the bling that makes putting up with the rest of plant's demeanour worthwhile.

A moth called a pansy! Add to the confusion by calling it chocolate! These Lepidopterologists (botanists who study the entomology specifically of moths) seem to have developed a sense of humor! Jokes aside, this chocolate moth was one busy-body. No time to pose, no time to fly with mates, just one flower after another. Till an unruly bunch of butterflies ganged up on her, and she landed on this leaf in a huff.

Snow calms my heart. Till I realise I'm snowed in with 3.5 feet of snow. There's not much to photograph, till you shut out your aspirations and go with designs that snow melds together in ways only snow can!

Signs Of Civilization

Prints Available

from Rs. 1,000

Sometimes, there comes a bend in the road, where you have only one choice, a singular option - disembark; no mission, no destination, no sense of time. This is one of those spots - the clouds were descending on the mountains, rolling in with purpose. A couple of cows rolled past, their bells clanging, unhasty like me. A great spot to climb aboard the hood of the jeep and soak in the vista.

Divided By Time

Prints Available

from Rs. 1,000

There are only a few fleeting moments when the sun looks newborn. Each day begins with that soap-behind-the-ears sun, but there are some days that the sun wins, and there are others that clouds dominate. This one, shot from a hilltop in the Garwhal range, was one of those days that the sun won, from pretty much the first moment it rinsed it's teeth! It truly was one of those days that one felt good to be sun-kissed

People mistake dragonflies to be lazy. The fact is, they eat a lot in the cooler parts of the day, and then sit on a sunny branch, doing a long soak of the sun - to help digest the greens and to recharge the wings. This specific dragonfly is a Blue Tailed Forest Hawk.

The Sun Rises On A Valley

Prints Available

An afternoon spent sitting in the sun, under the bluest sky that only Spring can bring - flags fluttering, not a soul around. I remember thinking about the hands that had strung up those flags, who it was, where he/she was now, and if they'd carried back some of the peace I was reveling in here. And I prayed, that their prayers had come through as they'd hoped. And I thanked them for paying their prayers forward.
